For the first time, .name is now opening its second level domain

This opening of .name means that highly attractive names and nicknames such as petermorgan.name, mrbig.name, jimbrown.name, superhero.name, gambler.name, spike.name, soldier.name, sexybabe.name and hundreds of thousands more highly attractive names become available.

.name is a gTLD that was created at the same time as .info and .biz, but has until now only done registrations on the "third level" (of the type peter.morgan.name). This now changes, and you can register names on the second level of .name just like you are used to on e.g. .com, .net or .biz.

.name is the last TLD to open up, and this is most likely the last chance in many years to get the names you want on a global top-level domain.

What is "pre-registration"?

What is .name?
